Building a new 00 layout

Here is a photographic record of our work to build
a new 00 layout in the clubroom.

First we built a new test track for members to use, this includes
 00, N and On30 track work on a 10x5 folding baseboard.
Should keep the lads happy!

Once this was wired and in use we could press on and start the work on our baseboards for the new 00 layout...here Kevin views progress...

Here Steve Cope double checks Kevin in doing the right things!!!

Here are some views of our early work on structure for the
different levels of the layout...

Got to get that hump back hill smoothed out!

Will all these parts ever come together? !

Lots of bits of uprights and "L" girders to fit!

Now we have moved on to get some trackwork on the layout - not fixed but in place to see how it all works... Kerry spent Mondays getting some of the track laid with screws to temp hold it in place - thanks Kerry.

Kevin and Steve Cope obviously pleased with progress!

Birds eye view (or should I say front buffer view) but the track looks good eh?

Geoff, Dave and Malcolm discuss if we should extend the layout even more!

Innaugural run - the class 20 starts it's first journey...

Passing over that pointwork quite smoothly...

Sweeping curves! - just what every man wants!

More on progress next time.....keep watching.

They have been waiting at this bar for a drink for ages! - very poor service!
Now just about all the track is temp pinned down for us to test run some stock.
We just have to lift it all again! and start cutting holes for point motors and then re-lay with underlay....
